Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These terms govern your use of OpenLearn. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. If an account is created for a student by a parent, guardian, or school, that adult accepts these terms on the student’s behalf.
Accounts
- Keep your login credentials private and tell us if you suspect misuse.
- Provide accurate information when registering (name, grade, school).
- Student accounts require the consent of a parent, guardian, or school.
Acceptable use
- Use OpenLearn for learning - not to harass others or disrupt the service.
- Do not attempt to access another user’s data or probe the platform’s security.
- Do not misuse the AI tutor; conversations are moderated and logged for safety.
Content
Lessons, videos, notes, and questions on OpenLearn belong to OpenLearn or the teachers who created them. You may use them for personal study but may not redistribute or resell them. Teachers keep ownership of content they upload and grant OpenLearn a licence to deliver it to their students.
AI tutor
The AI tutor is a study aid. It can make mistakes - answers should not be treated as a substitute for teachers, official syllabi, or past-paper marking schemes.
Subscriptions
Paid plans renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Termination & liability
We may suspend accounts that break these terms. OpenLearn is provided “as is”; to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the service.
